Pick the class that matches the work. Each page explains the choice and shows a price only where the 22 October 2026 research found a published rate.

Scissor lifts, 19 to 40 ft

A scissor is the straight-up machine: one deck, a guardrail, and a height that matches the platform. Contractors around Huntsville usually ask for 19, 26, 32, or 40 ft platform classes.

Articulating boom lifts, 45, 60, and 80 ft

An articulating boom bends. That is the point. Use one when the work is up and over a roof edge, a canopy, a pipe rack, or a line of parked cars.

Telescopic boom lifts, 60 to 125 ft

A telescopic boom is a straight stick. It reaches farther and faster across an open site, and it does not reach up and over the way an articulating boom does.

Towable and spider lifts

Some jobs never see a full-size boom. A towable lift comes behind a pickup. A spider lift walks through a doorway on tracks and sets outriggers on a protected floor.

Telehandlers

A telehandler picks, carries, and places material. It is not an aerial lift. If people need to leave the ground, order a boom or a scissor, or ask the yard whether a manufacturer-approved platform is actually part of the rental.

Scaffolding rental

Scaffold is a different trade from a boom lift. The right request names the type, the length of the run, the height, and whether you want components only or a crew to erect and dismantle.

Frame scaffolding

Frame scaffold is the standard bay: welded end frames, cross braces, and planks. It is the right ask for a straight run of wall at modest height.

Baker and narrow scaffold

A Baker-style scaffold is a narrow rolling tower for interior work. Painters, maintenance techs, and ceiling crews use it where a full frame run would block the hall.

System scaffolding

System scaffold is the ring-and-ledger or cup-style product plants use when a frame bay will not follow the steel. Outages, boilers, pipe racks, and vessels are the usual reason to ask for it.

Stair towers

A stair tower is how people get up and down without climbing the frames they are working from. Construction sites and turnarounds both ask for them.

Erect and dismantle

Renting frames and having a competent crew build them are different purchases. If you want the scaffold erected and taken down, say so in the first sentence of the request.
