Baker and narrow scaffold

A Baker-style scaffold is a narrow rolling tower for interior work. Painters, maintenance techs, and ceiling crews use it where a full frame run would block the hall.

Where it fits

Use it for corridors, classrooms, offices, and low industrial bays with a hard floor. It is not a substitute for a stair tower or for system scaffold around a vessel. If the ceiling is high enough that you are stacking many sections, ask whether a small scissor is safer and faster.

We did not find a sourced published Baker rate in the 22 October 2026 research. Outriggers, guardrails, and the rule against riding a rolling tower while someone else pushes it are part of the conversation with the rental company, not a detail to skip.
